30 Technology Announces Positive Stage 1 Results from NOPA Phase 1b/2a Study of RESP303 in Non-Cystic Fibrosis Bronchiectasis

Highly favourable safety and tolerability profile, high treatment compliance and sustained microbiological and patient-reported efficacy data support advancement of RESP303

30 Technology today announced the successful completion and analysis of Stage 1 of its NOPA Phase 1b/2a clinical study evaluating RESP303 in patients with non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis (NCFB) chronically infected with Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

RESP303 is 30 Technology’s lead clinical stage inhaled antimicrobial candidate. It is designed to generate nitric oxide directly within the airways, at the site of infection, with the aim of delivering potent antimicrobial and antibiofilm activity while limiting systemic exposure.

Stage 1 of the NOPA study achieved its key objectives, demonstrating an excellent safety and tolerability profile, exceptional treatment compliance, and very encouraging clinical and microbiological efficacy. Patients treated with RESP303 showed reductions in Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacterial burden during the treatment period, with effects maintained through one month follow-up. Improvements were also observed in patient-reported respiratory symptoms and overall wellbeing.

The results provide further clinical support for 30 Technology’s nitric oxide-generating platform and mark an important milestone in the development of RESP303 as a potential new treatment option for patients with chronic respiratory infections, where current therapies remain limited, burdensome, or poorly tolerated.

Importantly, the persistence of microbiological and patient-reported signals through one-month follow-up supports our belief that RESP303 has the potential to become a differentiated therapeutic option for patients with chronic respiratory infections where there remains substantial unmet medical need.”

Chronic respiratory infections are a major and growing clinical challenge in patients with bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis and other chronic lung diseases. These infections are often associated with biofilm formation, antimicrobial resistance, recurrent exacerbations, progressive lung damage and impaired quality of life.

RESP303 has been developed to address these challenges through a locally delivered, multi-mechanistic antimicrobial approach. By generating nitric oxide directly in the airways, RESP303 is intended to target infection where it resides, including pathogens embedded in biofilms and difficult-to-treat organisms associated with chronic lung disease.

The Stage 1 findings strengthen the clinical rationale for advancing RESP303 into the next phase of development. 30 Technology is preparing to expand patient recruitment and further evaluate RESP303 in Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection and other clinically significant respiratory pathogens, including non-tuberculous mycobacterial species.
