We are advancing research using 30Technology™ to address neglected cutaneous diseases caused solely by infection.
Buruli Ulcers are large, disfiguring skin ulcers that primarily affect children aged 5 to 15 years. Buruli ulcer is caused by Mycobacterium ulcerans, is a chronic, debilitating, necrotising disease of the skin and soft tissue. Approximately 6000 cases are reported annually around the world, especially from rural Africa, and occur most commonly in children.
The clinical spectrum of leishmaniasis ranges from a self-resolving cutaneous ulcer to a mutilating mucocutaneous disease and even to a lethal systemic illness. WHO estimates annual incidence of 0.7-1.3 million cases of cutaneous disease globally.
30 TECHNOLOGY is developing and defining new models of care to treat many serious medical conditions by enhancing the body’s healing and defence mechanisms.
